MIDTOWNEarl of Sandwich, a new Midtown sandwich shop from a man who is related to the actual first Earl of Sandwich (the supposed inventor of the sandwich) and Robert Earl of Planet Hollywood, officially opens to the public tomorrow and had a soft opening/free sandwich giveaway today on 6th Ave and 51st Street. The chain started in Orlando, expanded to London and Paris, and will eventually have two locations in New York. They serve the typical array of salads, sandwiches, soups, wraps, and desserts. UPPER WEST SIDEA Voce Madison and A Voce Columbus are launching a new guest sommelier program featuring winemakers from around the world. On each night, a winemaker will work as sommelier for an hour and a half to two hours, recommending bottles and offering tastes of wines not usually on the A Voce menus. Poggio Antico will be there on September 9, Poggio Antico and Castello di Ama on the 10th, and Volpaia on the 13th. [EaterWire]

ASTORIA— The Astoria location of 5 Napkin Burger is hosting some beer and burger dinners this fall.
