A release today reveals a few more details on Kutsher's, the Jeffrey Chodorow and Kutsher family's spinoff of 100 year-old Catskill resort Kutsher’s Country Club. The restaurant will open in October, and it will be run by Chodorow's China Grill Management and Zach Kutsher. Architect Rafael de Cardenas (his last NYC restaurant project was Soho's Niko) will oversee the design.
Mark Spangenthal, formerly the chef at The Dining Room on the Upper East Side, will be in charge of the kitchen, serving "a contemporary and playful approach to the canon of Jewish cooking," including Schmaltz rubbed steak frites, "Sephardic Tuna Porterhouse," knishes stuffed with brisket, and house-cured pastrami reuben sliders. On Sunday nights, the restaurant will serve a special Jewish-Chinese supper. Stay tuned for more as the 167-seat restaurant nears completion.
