Red Farm to Open on August 15; Otarian Goes Twitter Crazy

WEST VILLAGE—Ed Schoenfeld and Joe Ng's long anticipated Chinese and dim sum spot Red Farm is inching closer to opening. They were loading groceries into the space today and workers told a passerby that they hoped to open on August 15. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE— Avenue C live music venue and bar Nublu is temporarily relocating to 24 1st Ave. while they await liquor license renewal at their original home. [EVG]

WILLIAMSBURG— Zagat learns that Pillar & Plough, the new restaurant from chef Andres Julian Grundy at the Hotel Williamsburg, will open in mid-September. It will feature a chef's counter where guests can order five to eight course tasting menus. Elsewhere on the property there will be a pool with a lounge and a taco truck serving beer and cocktails, a lobby bar, and a rooftop venue serving ceviche and sashimi. [Zagat]

THE TWITTERVERSEGrub Street notices that Otarian, a healthy food chain that closed one of its New York locations under a year after its opening, is sending angry tweets to detractors following the shutter of its London restaurant. They even tweeted to one person, "U deinitely hv the 'small dick syndrome'- do u hv a job?do u own ur house or anythng- u peice of cheap s**t?u need help!" When some guessed that the account had been hacked, they tweeted, "its not hacked, its pay back time! u wil get what you deserve. No more BS from today." [GS]

FIDI— Andaz Wall Street's Wall & Water and Bar Seven Five will be offering oyster specials today through August 12. They're serving half priced oysters and two daily oyster specials. [EaterWire]
