La Esquina Brooklyn, aka Cafe de la Esquina at Wythe Diner, soft opens its front section to the public on Monday. Like their Kenmare Street location, the La Esquina diner spot will serve updated Mexican fare from chef Akhtar Nawab (menu below) and offers a taqueria option, a casual diner area, and a more formal back room. That room opens on August 12, and they're taking reservations at 718-393-5500. Both diner and back room will be open from 6 PM - 2 AM with brunch going down in the diner and outdoor cafe come September.
