1) East Village: The best tri-tip in the Tri-State is a big claim, but the New Jersey-based Prime & Beyond's reputation precedes it. Importing USDA prime steaks and utilizing 'Q the butcher' methods for their high end meat, Prime & Beyond has expanded into the East Village and is now open for business. The Fort Lee restaurant held it's own on the Food Network's 'Steak War with Rahm Fama,' and now we'll see how it competes with Manhattan's best. Status: Certified open; 90 E. 10th Street, 212-505-0033
2) Upper East Side: Park Avenue Italian restaurant Casa Lever now has an extensive outdoor plaza open and ready for business. Diner's Journal reports that after an extensive approval process, the garden seating area is serving customers, and will also be open rain or shine with umbrellas from May to October. Status: Certified open; 390 Park Avenue, 212-888-2700
3) Astoria: A new American bistro is now open in Astoria called William Hallett. The brainchild of Gary Anza and George Rallis, the restaurant is named after the 17th Century settler in Hallet's cove, recalling our nation's origin, and honoring it with a Pilgrim-approved menu including suckling pig and Turducken.
