Last December, popular Chelsea paella spot Socarrat expanded its reach by opening a new location down on Mulberry Street in Nolita. And according to Metromix's fall preview today, they'll be expanding once again this fall.
Lolo Manso, owner of the two Socarrats, the Socarrat wine bar, and La Nacional, will open a new location of the paella spot on 2nd Avenue between 51st and 52nd Streets. Opening in November, the two story space will have a full liquor license, a 12-seat terrace, a private dining room, and an expanded menu including Basque pinxtos and Spanish flatbread. Meanwhile, down at 284 Mulberry, an extension of the Socarrat that's there now, Manso will open La Churreria, "a casual Spanish pastry and sandwich shop serving simple toasted bites called bikinis..." Expect that in early October.
