Carastina, Sam Bahri's Steakhouse, and Bon Chon Now Open

1) Midtown East: A new restaurant called Carastina has opened in the old Raffaele Ristorante space on 1st Avenue between 57th and 58th streets. They serve casual Northern Italian fare. Status: Certified Open; 1055 First Ave., 212-750-3232.

2) West Village: Sam Bahri’s Steakhouse opens today on 6th Ave., serving "classic American dishes with a subtle French flair. Owner Sam Bahri is a longtime downtown resident and opened Dallas Jones BBQ, and chef Scott Morosky most recently cooked at New York Yankee Steakhouse. Expect traditional steaks with the traditionals sauces and sides, a raw bar, fish, and seasonal starters. Status: Opens today; 257 Sixth Ave., 212-647-1010.

3) Midtown: Flo Fab reports that Del Frisco's Grille, an offshoot of the famous steak chain, will open this weekend. Status: Opening Saturday; Rockefeller Plaza at 51st Street, 212-767-0371.

4) Midtown East: Grub Street learns that a new location of Korean fried chicken restaurant Bon Chon is now open on Second Avenue at 51st Street. The space seats about 60 guests, and there is a full bar with 20 beers on tap. Status: Certified Open; 957 2nd Ave; 212-308-8810.
