It looks like the Bowery Beef team will abandon its cohabitation of the Bowery Poetry Club and search for another place to sell its sandwiches. The shutter is due to recent robberies (four times in one week), lack of a dinner rush, and the requirement of being silent during poetry readings, which was not conducive to dining. They are looking for new locations in the neighborhood and, the owner joked, working on a artisinal whorehouse/casino pop-up. [EV Grieve]
