The Neely's Barbecue Parlor

One has to be pretty cold-hearted to deathwatch a restaurant owned by these two, the beloved and smoochy Food Network couple Pat and Gina Neely. But no one said this job was easy. The amorous cooking show celebs opened their first New York venture—their first venture outside of Tennessee—on the Upper East Side last month. Too early to enter the hospice? Nope. It's a vanity project that's about 20 blocks too far from Times Square, and it's received less than pleasant (read: agressively negative) feedback. You want to enter the New York barbecue fray? You better be willing to play big. And this just doesn't.
