1442 First Avenue, Upper East Side
Phone: (212) 737-1700
Status: Now Open
After nearly two years of construction, the Upper East Side location of the famed 2nd Avenue Deli opened to the public earlier today on First Avenue at 75th Street. This new branch is owned by Josh and Jeremy Lebewohl, the nephews of original proprietor Abe Lebewohl. It features the same menu of deli classics found at the Midtown East location.
The restaurant seats 70 guests, and will open at 6 AM every day, and stay open until 4 AM on Friday and Saturday nights, and midnight the rest of the week. The family celebrated the debut earlier today with a ceremonial cutting of “Nickel Shtickel” salami links. Take a peek at the menu, and do send any early reports our way.
