Ladies and Gentleman, Shitshow Week 2011 Starts Right Now

New, 21 comments

What a perfectly gloomy and humid morning to announce that Eater's fourth annual Shitshow Week, a festive time to focus on the great follies of the restaurant world, starts this very moment. As Steve Cuozzo noted last week, seasoned restaurateurs are playing safe and fewer out of towners and amateurs are going big and brash, making shitshow connoisseurs long for the heady days of summer 2008. But no matter. As long as Todd English is still opening restaurants, Shitshow Week will live on.

Over the next five days, we'll throw up reviews of different potential shitshows, offer some submissions from experts in the field, deathwatch a restaurant or two, and throw in some other fun surprises. To kick things off, we asked cutting edge Scandinavian design firm Kinderbrød to create a Shitshow Week video. Enjoy, and feel free to submit Deathwatch candidates and submissions to the Eater Complaints Dept. here.
