Anthony Bourdain Is a Fan of Shake Shack Copycat Milk Burger

New, 2 comments

It's been a good week for Milk Burger, the East Harlem fast food restaurant that ripped off the design and menu of the Shake Shack. On Monday, the owner told the press about how they've seen an uptick in sales ever since Ottavia Bourdain tweeted about the place. Now her husband Tony is spreading the word about their delicious burgers.

In an interview with the Times, Bourdain starts talking about the food situation on the Upper East Side:

For an area as affluent as mine, and presumably as sophisticated, it's a wasteland for food. When Shake Shack opened a block from my house, I dropped to my knees and wept with gratitude. Unfortunately, they don't deliver. So, I live in this weird zone — my wife got me into this actually — where if we're out on the street and it's convenient, we'll go to Shake Shack and buy burgers and bring them home — but Milk Burger delivers. I feel like I'm betraying Danny Meyer every time I call them up, but it's a damn good burger.
When he's not eating cheeseburgers, Bourdain says he likes Takashi in the West Village: "To have a place in New York that serves so much guts is encouraging and, in this case, delicious."
