Travertine Closes For Mysterious Summer Vacation

New, 11 comments

A tipster writes in to report that Travertine, Danae Cappelletto's restaurant on Kenmare, has been mysteriously closed for the last two weeks, adding that the phone line is dead and it's offline on OpenTable. Could Cappelletto's run as the new Queen of New York City nightlife be over less than seven months after she donned the crown?

According to Cappelletto, the two year-old restaurant is simply closed for a summer vacation, but when pressed for a reopening date she said she's waiting on an event series to confirm their dates for the space. Still, it does seems odd to disconnect the phone instead of telling your customers that you are closed for a holiday like other restaurants seem to do. It's another strange development in the long history of 19 Kenmare.
Update: Cappelletto adds that the phone lines are up they just go to a machine, the email is working, and the are most definitely reopening after the vacation.
