HBO Filming at John's; Cafe Colette Launches Garden Room

WILLIAMSBURG—Williamsburg wine bar Tuffet now serves sandwiches during the day and a dessert plate (chocolate almonds, Fat Toad Farm Goat's Milk Caramel) in addition to its regular roster of meats and cheese. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE— The owner of La Palapa in the East Village recently renewed her lease and is relaunching it with a series of new programs. The menu will feature more "market driven" fare and a new drink menu is coming soon. Also, from July 20 - 26, they're hosting the Festival del Quelite, which means food and drinks with a big green (the color) focus. [EaterWire]

WILLIAMSBURGCafe Colette in Williamsburg is opening a year-round garden dining room encased in greenhouse glass. It will double the seating of the restaurant and will open to the public on Saturday. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE—HBO show Boardwalk Empire was filming today at East Village old-timer John's. [EVG]

CARROLL GARDENS—Forthcoming Bergen Street restaurant 61 Local will have a green roof on their building and will use the produce in the restaurant. It will also absorb rainwater to prevent runoff. [CGP]

EXPANSIONS—Eater LA reports that after 40 years and 750 cafes in 22 countries, LA's The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will open its first ever Manhattan coffee shop to open mid-August at 1412 Broadway near 39th Street. [ELA]
