Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:
1) El Bulli: Cooking in Progress
Where: Film Forum, 209 West Houston Street
When: Saturday and Sunday. Showtimes: 1:00, 3:15, 5:30, 7:50, 10:00
What: Ferran Adrià's renowned Spanish restaurant El Bulli serves its last meal tonight. Don't have a reservation? Can't fly to Spain? Then perhaps you might enjoy a screening of the Adria documentary El Bulli: Cooking in Progress. Here's the trailer:
2) Korilla at Sycamore
Where: 1118 Cortelyou Road, Ditmas Park
When: Sunday, 12 - 6 PM.
What: The Korilla truck will be setting up shop at relaxed Ditmas Park bar Sycamore this Sunday, along with Barrier Brewing Company of Oceanside, who will be offering pints for $5.
3) Happy Hour at Maison Premiere
Where: 208 Bedford Avenu, Williamsburg
When: Saturday and Sunday, 4- 7 PM
What: This stylish new cocktail parlor has a killer happy hour deal, where they offer 20 of their oysters for one dollar each. The is a great weekend to check it out, as they just launched expanded hours in their lush back garden (opens at noon on the weekends), which is set up with an oyster station and a full bar.
UPDATE: The oyster happy hour deal is only available Monday-Friday. Even without that deal, you can still enjoy their awesome backyard this weekend.
4) Dekalb Market
Where: 332 Flatbush Avenue
When: All day Saturday and Sunday
What: The weather's going to be great this weekend (if a bit hot), so it's the perfect time to check out the brand new Dekalb Market in Downtown Brooklyn. Think of it as a less crowded version of Smorgasburg, with stalls made out of old shipping containers. Vendors include: Joe, Cheeky, Cuzin's Duzin Donuts, Maharlika, Robicelli's Cupcakes, and Nile Valley Juice & Salads.
5) Opening Weekend at BaoHaus 2
Where: 238 East 14th Street, East Village
When: Saturday and Sunday night
What: The second location of Eddie Huang's bun shop is now up and running, with an expanded menu and about 20 seats in the dining room. Consider BaoHaus 2 if you're looking for a place to refuel after barhopping in the EVill, or if you want some cheap eats before or after a movie at the Regal Union Square Stadium 14.
Also of Note: Williamsburg food market Smorgasburg is open today from 9 AM - 5 PM. Groovy new cocktail parlor Bearded Lady is now open in Prospect Heights. If you're looking for a new restaurant to try, consider Ellabess or The Beagle, and for brunch, take a peek at Eater's map of hot new brunch spots. And, if you're feeling adventurous, consider going to one of New York's 10 "secret" restaurants.
