DOH Chronicles

2011_a_grades_one_year.jpgThe stats are in from the first year of DOH letter grades: 69% of graded restaurants were awarded an A, 15% received a B, 4% got a C, and 12% are "Grade Pending." In the last year, the city also collected $42 million in fines from inspections, compared to $32 million the previous year. The WSJ also estimates that a quarter of the A-grade restaurants were just a few points away from getting a B. [WSJ]
