Jeffrey Chodorow's Asia de Cuba to Shutter This Fall

New, 11 comments

Shutter shocker: Crain's reports that Jeffrey Chodorow's Latin-fusion behemoth Asia de Cuba will close in October. Earlier this summer, The Morgans Hotel (which houses ADC) bought out the remaining 50% of the company's interests from China Grill Management to the tune of $20 million. They will fill the space with another project, but they have not yet confirmed that it will be a restaurant.

El Chod will hold onto the Asia de Cuba brand, and the restaurant still has satellites in Los Angeles, Miami, and London. But where will the Romanian Ambassador go when she wants some solid New York fusion fare?
