Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

1) Meatopia
Where: Pier 5, Brooklyn Bridge Park
When: Saturday, 5:30 - 9:30 PM
What: Josh Ozersky's "Woodstock of Edible Animals" featuring dishes by Seamus Mullen, April Blomfield, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo, Eddie Huang, Michael White, Naomi Pomeroy, Nate Appleman, Harold Moore, Joe Ng, Floyd Cardoz, Amanda Freitag, Michael Psilakis, Brad Farmerie, Criag Koketsu, and Bobby Hellen, just to name a few. Where: Brooklyn Kitchen
When: Saturday, 4 PM
What: The popular Williamsburg kitchen goods store is hosting a dessert pie competition. A panel of judges, including Milk Bar's Christina Tosi, will determine the first, second, and third place winners, and attendees will vote on who gets the Grand Prize: a brand new Cuisinart mixer. Admission is $5 and includes pie tasting and beer, with all proceeds going to the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry.

3) Bushwick Block Party
Where: Moore Street between Bogart and White
When: All day Saturday
What: A street fest with free pizza from Roberta's, beer from Sixpoint Craft Brewers, and rice balls from Arancini brothers. There will also be music from 10 bands, wrestling matches, and oh so much more. Check out the epic preview:

Where: 633 Grand Street, Brooklyn
When: Sunday, 3 - 8:30 PM
What: Sam Mason's laid-back bar Lady Jay's is hosting a BBQ cookout with live music from ESpirit Family Reunion and Sean Kershaw & The Terrible Two. Chef Lex Taylor will be cooking a barbecue menu. Plates are $5 and include one entree and two sides. There will also be a number of drink specials (all $5 or under). Admission is free if you RSVP online.

2011_dekalb_market1.jpg5) Dekalb Market Opening Weekend
Where: 332 Flatbush Avenue
When: All day Saturday and Sunday
What: Brooklyn's newest outdoor market, featuring stalls made out of old shipping containers. Food vendors include Maharlika, Joe, Robicelli's Cupcakes, Sour Puss Pickles, and Cheeky Sandwiches, to name a few. This is great weekend to go, as it might be totally packed once word gets out.

2011_ellabess1.jpgAlso of Note: The Serious Eats Sandwich Fest is today, but it's completely sold out. The Great Hot Dog Cookoff at Kelso Brewery is also sold out. There will be a Bloody Mary competition at the Manhattan Inn in Greenpoint on Sunday at 5 PM. Williamsburg food market Smorgasburg is open today from 9 AM - 5 PM. If you're looking for a new restaurant to try, consider Ellabess or The Beagle, and for brunch, take a peek at Eater's map of hot new brunch spots.
