Knowing that group dining, along with large format meals, are a win-win for both restaurateurs and diners, as confirmed by Felix Salmon, it's no surprise more are getting into the game. Reps announce today that Ken Friedman and April Bloomfield, who already serve a lamb feast at The Breslin, are opening up their chef's table in the kitchen of The John Dory Oyster Bar to large parties. The table can be booked for parties of 8-12 guests at 7 PM any night of the week. They'll serve a set menu for $100 a head, $150 with wine pairings. It's no fantastic bargain, but those who like the theater and the special treatment that come from sitting in the kitchen, don't like jostling for a seat in the room up front, and have a special jonsing for Bloomfield's seafood may go for this one.
Check out a sample version of the menu below, and book by emailing chefs.table@thejohndory.com or calling 646-214-5764.
