As promised, veteran West Village beer bar Blind Tiger, underwent a polishing last month and now boasts a new layout, some new custom built tables, and a brand spankin new menu from chef Tommy Harder.
Because the place is incessantly packed during the evening, the drive here is really to amp up the lunch offerings. So come lunchtime, expect Blind Tiger's new tables—the ones connected to the windows in the front are especially choice—to be set with menus offering salads, sides, sandwiches, and apps like chicken liver pate, prosciutto-wrapped fruit, and deviled eggs. A board will offer daily specials. On Sundays, starting June 26, they'll serve a pancake brunch with special beer battered pancakes and syrup aged in bourbon barrels. Much of the ingredients here will be sourced from either neighborhood purveyors or owner Dave Broderick's Vermont farm.
And speaking of Vermont, the Blind Tiger team is thinking of opening up a branch there. Closer to home, they're considering expanding to Queens, but have yet to find a space.
