The Orchard Closes, May Reopen at End of Summer

New, 7 comments

Lower East Side American restaurant The Orchard closed after service on Saturday night. A worker reached at the restaurant says they'll be closed until the end of the summer while the owners regroup and decide what to do with the space. There's a chance (though, one imagines, a small one) it will reopen with the same name and concept after the summer-long hiatus.

The restaurant, owned by the folks behind ápizz, last went through a renovation, or a much briefer polishing, back in 2007. It opened in '05 and earned a deuce from Frankie Two Stars in '06.
