In the wake of the shutter of the UWS H&H Bagel store, the City Room asks former critic Mimi Sheraton about the state of the bagel: "In general, I think it’s deplorable. Primarily, it’s because of the enormous size...The size, I think, affects the proportion of crust to interior. The thickness of these big ones makes them like rubber tires."
