A West Village mainstay for beer geeks and after work crowds, the Blind Tiger, a is about to get a revamp. John McNulty, who just left his position as GM of Joseph Leonard and Beverage Director for Gabe Stulman's Little Wisco restaurant empire, tells Eater that he recently joined the Tiger to spruce the place up. Which means that they're both switching up the layout and adding custom made tables and upping the ante in the food department.
Though the Blind Tiger is already somewhat known for its bar food, the bar's owners and McNulty hope to turn the place into a real destination in the neighborhood for daytime dining and aim to intertwine the beer and food worlds. So they'll have a whole new roster of sandwiches, salads, apps, and rotating specials like a daily grilled cheese, daily chilis, and occasionally, some higher end fare. On the weekends, look out for a new pancake brunch with beer battered pancakes and syrup that owner Dave Brodrick is aging in bourbon barrels upstate. The new look and menu should debut in two weeks. Stay tuned for more.
