Chef Josh DeChellis OUT at La Fonda del Sol

New, 17 comments

Josh DeChellis, the chef who made a name for himself at Jovia, Sumile, and the short-lived BarFry, is leaving his latest post as the Executive Chef of La Fonda del Sol, the two year-old revival of a classic Joe Baum restaurant from the 1960's. Reps at the restaurant confirm that he'll leave his kitchen at the MetLife building on May 6, and they will continue to serve his current menu of Spanish cuisine with a focus on tapas.

We have yet to learn what his future plans are—most recently he dabbled in consulting over at Cobi Levy's Japanese restaurant Niko, so perhaps more one-off gigs are in store. Per the rep, "Patina Restaurant Group thanks DeChellis and wishes him the very best in his future ventures."
