1) Upper West Side: A tipster writes, "Seems that Vai, the popular Soho Italian spot that expanded to the UWS and subsequently shuttered a few months ago, will rise again a few blocks north of its 77th street location and open up in the old Taberna space on Amsterdam and 81st." [PLYWOOD]

2) Flatiron: Continental modern restaurant Incognito puts up a coming soon sign at 30 W 18th St. According to Facebook, they are opening end of May/beginning of June. [PLYWOOD]

3) Greenwich Village: Signs are up for two new Village snack shacks. Village Voice probesan anthropomorphic french fry-like figure called Chipsy to replace the Hummus Place on MacDougal. They'll serve all kinds of fries in addition to fried Twinkies and Oreos. Meanwhile, anticipated Euro export Amorino gelato reveals an exterior in progress. [PLYWOOD]

4) Clinton Hill: According to Brownstoner, a high end tea bar named Tea Time has just signed a lease for the space at 14 Putnam. Word is they will be serving tea-ccinos using an espresso machine along with traditional loose leaf product and Blue Bottle coffee. In addition, Cielo Bar has applied for a liquor license at 474 Myrtle Avenue. [PLYWOOD]

5) Park Slope: Here's Park Slope reports on the opening of Kulushkät Gourmet Falafel on 446 Dean Street. The mostly vegan restaurant is named after the Moroccan saying "Shut up and eat." [PLYWOOD]

6) Lower East Side: Astoria-based Djerdan Burek is expanding to 91 Clinton Street, where they plan to take the place of former Xian Qin Flower Shop. Bowery Bookie reports they plan to open in 2 weeks. [PLYWOOD]

7) Harlem: Harlem Condo Life reports on the construction progress of Harlem Tavern, coming restaurant and bar at 116th and Frederick Douglass Blvd, now with a sign. [PLYWOOD]
