Thieves Steal Salumeria Rosi's Bikes During Film Shoot

New, 8 comments

Welcome to Eater's latest feature, Shit People Steal, in which we ask restaurateurs what items in their restaurant have been (or are frequently) stolen.

2011_05_rosi.jpgToday in Shit People Steal, Cesare Casella has a real bummer of a theft from his Upper West Side restaurant/take out spot Salumeria Rosi:

A few weeks ago they were shooting a movie outside our restaurant and our bikes were stolen! And not just any bikes . . . our favorite Salumeria tricycle and ‘mint express’ delivery bike. As any New Yorker knows, when they film a movie on your block it means trailers as far as the eye can see, obstructing all views of the sidewalk from the street and making it easier for thieves to steal. When we arrived the following morning to open up the Salumeria, we discovered broken locks where the bikes had been chained up. We still really bummed about it too!
