Rising Food Costs Force Gray's Papaya Price Hike

New, 1 comment

Gray's Papaya, the famed old hot dog stand that is known, almost equally, for its cutesy and funny signage and its dirt cheap dogs, erected the above sign in the window of the 72nd Street branch recently. There's been much talk of late about the rising food costs and how restaurants are dealing with it (mostly via price hikes), and Gray's is not immune. Employees tell West Side Rag that they're not sure when prices will go up, but for now hot dogs are still $1.50. As noted last time they were forced to raise prices, Gray's takes this kind of stuff very seriously.
