The Five Best Comments on Eater this Week

New, 1 comment

Welcome to Saturday Night Five, where we shine a light on the best quips, barbs, burns, and nuggets of truth from Eater NY commenters. Here's this week's cream of the crop:

5) An anonymous commenter has a Rapture dining plan:

I was thinking of making a reservation at Per Se (where I recently had a superb meal) but I guess the Amex charge would catch up with this sinner by October. So I guess the time for the Last Blowout Supper is now October 20th.
4) Sneakeater on Todd English's spooky new restaurant, Cross Bar:
If only it were across the street at 666.
3) Whatthe reacts to the decor of LES newcomer Co-Op:
I'm not going strictly based on the fact that Taylor Momsen managed to make it onto the wall of NYC luminaries.

2) BL on Ryan Skeen's departure from FishTag:

Value of his Shitshow All-Stars trading card is going to skyrocket.
1) An anonymous commenter (who signed off as Mimi Sheraton) has some thoughts on the future of Elaine's:
Seems like a good idea for Graydon Carter to buy it. Then he could play host each night wearing one of Elaine's 400 dresses that would probably be a good fit. And if he donned large-frame glasses, few might notice the difference.
Congrats to this week's Saturday Night Five! Next round's on us.
