Back in February, chef Jimmy Bradley announced that he was pulling out of his deal with long in the works hotel The Nolitan and would no longer be opening his J&S Food Hall there upon the building's debut. And just two months later, another operator has swooped in to snatch up the space.
Zagat reports today and reps confirm that Epicurean Management Company, the group behind Dell’Anima, L’Artusi, and Anfora, has signed a deal to develop and operate a "seasonal American" restaurant there called Ellabess. The FOH face of the group, Joey Campanale, and its chef Gabe Thompson are not involved, as they're busy running the other three projects and planning new ones. Instead, Troy Unruh, who was most recently chef de cuisine at dell’anima, will run the show. It will open this summer.
The opening of the hotel, which has been delayed nine times, is now set for June 1.
