Over on The Price Hike blog, Bloomberg critic Ryan Sutton notes a curious spike at Manzo, the Batali/Bastianich restaurant inside of super-charged supermarket Eataly.
The seven-course tasting menu is now $90, which is $25 more than the $65 five-course menu from September, and $15 more than the $75 Piedmontese beef tasting they offered after opening last summer. Curiously, this new $90 menu is also the only tasting menu available at Manzo (you can of course still order a la carte).
But is it still a deal? Ultimately the critic decides to pass, especially when the tasting at Babbo is only $75, and that restaurant is not inside a supermarket, but a charming old West Village townhouse, actually.
