A couple of tipsters wrote in yesterday to report that peripatetic chef Ryan Skeen is no longer the chef of Michael Psilakis' goose-egged Upper West Side restaurant FishTag, and today the restaurant confirms. In a statement they say that Skeen was just hired to assist with the "launch" of the restaurant, thus the eight month stint. The kitchen will now be overseen by Psilakis and newly promoted sous chef Stan Matusevich. Our sources say the chef was let go, but according to the statement, "Psilakis and Skeen remain in touch and hope to work together again in the future."
In the last three years Skeen has also held positions at Resto, Irving Mill, Allen & Delancey, Sweetiepie (as a consultant), and Five & Diamond.
