Frites 'n' Meats Driver Charged with Reckless Endangerment

New, 1 comment

About a month after the tragic explosion at the Frites 'n' Meats truck that sent two workers to the hospital, the police have arrested the driver, truck owner Mohamed Beydoun, and charged him with reckless endangerment. The FDNY reports that the truck was carrying twice the amount of propane it should have had—four tanks as opposed to two—and Beydoun was driving with the stove on. It was a roving firebomb of sorts.

Beydoun, who was treated for severe burns after the explosion and will have scars from it, will appear in court on June 6. Meanwhile, his brothers and co-owners are working to get a new Frites 'n' Meats truck up and running by August.
