2011_05_twittertheft.jpgA crime thriller played out on Twitter last night when a Canadian man who had his laptop stolen used special software to track it to Soho bar and restaurant Oficina Latina. From Canada the victim Sean Power was able to post pictures of the man who had his laptop (allegedly one of the co-owners of the restaurant) and show screenshots of him logged into his Gmail and bank accounts. Twitter followers eventually went to the bar, confronted the thief, and rescued the laptop. Powers swears this is not a guerrilla marketing move for the software. [Storify]
