Thomas Keller's newest outpost of Bouchon Bakery, his mini cafe/bakery chain, will open this Thursday at Rockefeller Center, right across from the Today Show in the old Dean & Deluca location. The new space is cute and clean with whimsical drawings of marionette puppets and globes and clear cases showcasing colorful pastries and other sweets, sandwiches, some soups and salads. The focus here is of course on the baked goods, with a wide selection of breakfast items like raspberry almond croissants and sticky buns and a very respectable assortment of dessert pastries, like macaroons, their take on a Ho-Ho (for $5.25!), cream puffs and fruit tarts that will change seasonally, and many, many more. Everything is baked on the premises in their two story kitchen.
