The Drying of NYC

New, 8 comments

Brooklyn 11211 reports that the Executive Committee for Commuity Board 1 in Williamsburg voted unanimously to institute a moratorium on new liquor licenses in Williamsburg, Greenpoint and the rest of North Brooklyn. They have decided that, like the LES, East Village, West Village, and others, their neighborhoods have an over saturation of liquor licenses. The full board will vote on the measure on Tuesday, and if passes, could be a major gamechager/road block for new operators in the area. [Brooklyn 11211 via Brownstoner]
