2011_03_mcsorleywishbone.jpgDue to some persnickety health inspectors, the owner of McSorley's dusted the wishbone chandelier that hangs above the 160 year-old bar for the first time maybe ever. As legend has it, soldiers shipping off to war have hung wishbones up there since the Civil War to give them luck in battle. The remaining bones are from those who never returned. Another DOH mandate: Minnie, the resident cat, got the boot. [NYT]
