According to the U.S. Labor Department, wholesale food prices rose 3.9 percent in February, the biggest monthly increase since 1974. And restaurateurs are increasingly passing rising commodity costs to consumers, as we've seen recently at Per Se, 'wichcraft, Blue Hill, Minetta Tavern, and elsewhere. [WSJ]
