As part of Eater's first ever burger week, chefs at five major New York restaurants that don't serve burgers agreed to make a special limited edition burger, served just this week and next. Every day we highlight a new burger. Today, Maialino's Gorgonzola Burger.
When we stopped by Maialino last week to see what chef Nick Anderer had come up with for Burger Week, he had two working prototypes, a Carbonara Burger topped with pecorino, house-cured bacon, and a fried egg and the above Gorgonzola burger. After a kitchen taste test—where the Carbonara was deemed delicious but not as special—the second burger won out. A 7 oz beef burger heavy on the brisket, it's topped with griddled onions, gorgonzola cheese, house-cured bacon, and escarole. Served at lunch for $17.
Stay tuned for the Sho Shaun Hergatt and Ma Peche burgers. See the Kin Shop burger here and the Chinatown Brasserie burger here.
