The Five Best Comments on Eater This Week

Welcome to Saturday Night Five, where we shine a light on the best quips, barbs, burns, and nuggets of truth from Eater NY commenters. Here's this week's cream of the crop:

5) Commenter ST. a has one wish for Andrew Carmellini's The Dutch:

I hope they have beans, a big bowl of good beans. No one has that.

4) Masterofceremonies likes our video of Casa Mono chef Anthony Sasso:

Loving this, and whoever was sitting at the table at the end has lovely manicured mitts.

3) Anonymous555 on the report that ramps are being overharvested:

So, I found myself in central NJ the other day, shopping at a Wegman's supermarket. What did I find in the produce aisle? Ramps, $12.95 a pound. Check-out person did not know what they were, nor could he find a UPC code for it. Called over a supervisor, who also was puzzled how to ring it up. Finally, had to override the entire store's computer system to enter it manually. A handful cost me 91 cents. Took nearly 20 minutes before they could be rung up. But, sauteed for five minutes with sliced shallots, they were delicious.
2) Ariel Brogg responds to the news that the Mark Iacono fight may have been over a woman who works at a stationery store:
She owes them both a get-well card.
1) MHeinz reacts to the menu at newcomer Monument Lane:
"Meatloaf" ? I have worked my whole life to make enough money to never have to suffer through meatloaf again. What is this recent obsession with that crap ?
Congrats to this week's Saturday Night Five! Next round's on us.
