Trouble Afoot at The Kenmare, Now Sans Campanaro?

According to a post on new rumormongering tumblr Chomp Chump, trouble's afoot at one year-old restaurant and nightlife hub The Kenmare: "Chef’s out, gone, bounced, tossed, has exited stage left. A bill for his services rendered and others, say from Pat LaFrieda, can be seen. They look daunting—and unpaid at press time—and our heros daunted."

And there may be something to it. Joey Campanaro, who ran the kitchen since the restaurant opened in March but had trouble winning over the critics, left the restaurant in February. He says the split was amicable and he was paid in full. The deal was a six month consulting contract from the beginning they they extended for an extra six months to Feb. 2. As for the purveyor debt, certain sources tell us it's pretty serious. The downstairs lounge is still drawing a crowd, so this could be a blip. But this monster space really can't survive on the nightlife crowd alone.
