Earlier today, we heard rumors that all was not well at Kenmare, following the recent departure of chef Joey Campanaro. Now the team from the restaurant tells Eater that they've hired a new chef: Gilbert Delgado, a Breslin and Spotted Pig vet, who helped open the restaurant last year, and then went to work as a sous chef at Del Posto. Delgado came back on board last week. He'll be preparing some of Campanaro's most popular dishes, while brining in many of his own. For now, his original menu items will be offered as specials, but expect a fully revised menu in the next few weeks.
What's more, the owners are doing some work to the dining room: they're adding a few more banquettes and booths sometime soon. The team also notes that the break with Campanaro was completely amicable.
