BOULUD EXPANSION — After the shutter of two of his Vancouver restaurants last month, Daniel Boulud is heading to Montreal. The Ritz-Carlton Montreal is getting a $150 million makeover, part of which is the addition of a Maison Boulud that will open in early 2012. Boulud already has a Maison Boulud in Beijing, but DB would like the menu at the French fine-dining restaurant to be influenced by Montreal and intends to "focus on local products and purveyors." Head over to Eater National for more on the new project. [Eater National]
SOHO — Tomorrow night and Saturday night, chefs Andrew Burman and Matt Monahan from Court St. Grocer will host an "Old School Cafebeeria" dinner in a former elementary school cafeteria in Soho, as a part of the Our Other Location project. They'll be preparing dishes like oysters & sardines, mussels, and calamari, plus beer pairings from Sam Richardson of Kelso. The dinner is $75, including drinks. Purchase tickets here. [EaterWire]
BRISKET BITTERS — For Passover, artisanal spirits maker Bitters Old Men is introducing Marilyn's Simple Son Bitters, a kosher plum brandy that's been fat-washed with jus from a kosher brisket and finished with bay leaf and gentian root. It's available for $9.95 at The Meadow in the West Village. [EaterWire]
