Just last week, news broke that a daughter of a longtime Russian Tea Room owner was opening a new Russian restaurant loosely based on the original called Moscow 57. She is negotiating a lease for a 125 seat spot in the Theater District.
Looks like two's a trend, because today Steve Cuozzo reports that Cafe Pushkin, a power lunch spot for oligarchs in Moscow, is opening a three story location at 41 West 57th Street in the space of the recently closed Shelly's Big City. The 7,200 square foot space sits just a block from the (still open, for those who forgot) Russian Tea Room.
