Albert Trummer's Theater Bar is Finally Open to the Public

Theater Bar, mixologist Albert Trummer's cocktail den that was originally set to open in September, finally opened to the public on Friday after months of previews, parties, and sticky red tape. The Apotheke alum has created a lush, open space, complete with deep red velvet curtains, plenty of low banquettes, a stage where guests order drinks, a raised DJ platform (which could be converted into seating) and stage lights. A secret passage behind the kitchen leads to a VIP area behind the stage.

As for the drink menu, it's divided into four categories "New York, Mexican, French cuisine, and Asian" but they'll also make classics like Negronis and Manhattans. Trummer has promised plenty of theatrics—there's an in-house illusionist—once noting that he wants to "create a new kind of show bartender who belongs to New York City." Just don't expect the drinks to be cheap. It's open Monday - Saturday from 5 PM - 2 AM.
