Frites 'n' Meats Propane Tank Explodes, Sends Two to ER

New, 35 comments

Multiple tipsters send word that the entire West Side Highway between North Moore Street and Barclay Street was closed this afternoon due to a serious fire (see above) at the Frites 'n' Meats Truck. And DNA Info reports that the fire was caused by a massive propane tank explosion and that two workers were sent to the hospital with serious but non life-threatening burns. Traffic is still held up because the fire truck that fought the blaze got stuck in the plantings on the bike path.

Unlike the recent food truck explosion on CSI: NY, this doesn't seem to be an act of foul play. Click through to see a photo of the wreckage.
