Harry and Peter Poulakakos, the owners of practically every restaurant and chain in FiDi and Battery Park City—including Financier Patisserie, Adrienne's Pizzabar, Harry's Italian, and Ulysses—have signed a deal with the city to open a giant restaurant and entertainment complex on the renovated and restored Pier A, located between Battery Park and Battery Park City. The complex will hold a casual restaurant, oyster bar, coffee shop, and visitors center on the first floor and a fine dining restaurant and event space on the second floor.
The city awarded the Battery Park City Authority $30 million back in 2008 to restore the crumbling 125 year-old Lower Manhattan landmark, and when completed, it will also include enhanced waterfront access, 30,000 square feet of public plaza space and a 12,500-square-foot public promenade.
All this and a Danny Meyer restaurant nearby? Life has never been so good in the BPC.
