1) South Slope: Both a tipster and Park Slope Patch notice that Giuseppina's the spinoff of sorts of uber popular Carroll Gardens pizzeria Lucali, is finally open after over a year of delays. Owned by Chris Iacono, brother to Lucali's Mark, the restaurant now only serves large pizzas, calzone, and a limited selection of Italian wines and beers. Our tipster says the pizza is just as good as Lucali's, while Patch reports that it "was everything the perfect pie should be." Status: Certified Open; 691 6th Ave., Brooklyn.

2) East Village: EV Grieve reports that Cowgirl Cupcakes, a small storefront on 10th Street between 1st and A is open and serving burritos, sandwiches, hot dogs, and cupcakes. Status: Certified Open; 259 East 10th St., more info here.

3) Clinton Hill: According to a press release, Clinton Hill restaurant Soule has reopened as Caribbean Soul. It features live jazz every Friday and Saturday night and serves "an exotic fusion of Caribbean and Soul food." Status: Certified Open; 920 Fulton St., Brooklyn.

4) Astoria: A reader would like to point out the opening last month of Queens Comfort in Astoria: "It's not easy to find good coffee and especially good atmosphere anywhere in Queens. I live down the street and walking in there today put me in such a good mood!! We need support them so more like this come to Astoria!" Status: Certified Open; 40-09 30th Ave., Queens, 646-597-8687.
