At a recent Community Board 1 committee meeting, David Blatt, a partner of Death & Co. owner David Kaplan, revealed that he and the East Village cocktail maven seek to bring a new drink happy concept to Stone Street in the Financial District. Located in the old China Chalet space on Broad and Stone, the new 120 seat restaurant will serve $14 cocktails, $6 - 8 small plates, $15 - 19 entrees, and shareable snacks like "bacon-wrapped dates and white anchovy bruschetta" and "eggplant caviar flatbreads and sweet potato gnocchi."
As usual with the FiDi committee, they were just psyched that someone new was coming to the neighborhood, and they easily approved it for a 4 AM closing time. Said one member, "We really need some good restaurants down here."
