The Madison Square Park Conservancy has long endorsed Union Square Hospitality group's annual mega-event The Big Apple BBQ, now in its ninth year. But some locals are sick and tired of the noise and the mess. Two committees of Community Board 5 voted last week to ban the festival from the park area, noting that five ethnic parades were banned from the area due to concerns of crowding.
