In its April issue, not yet online, Food & Wine names the 2011 Sommeliers of the Year. Taking the honors in New York is Ciano's John Slover, the sommelier that made a name for himself by opening a wide array of half bottles at Bar Henry and continued the tradition at Shea Gallante's lofty Italian restaurant on 22nd Street. It's because of the halfsies model that Slover made the list this year. [F&W]
